It has a French origin, subsequently, it was cultivated in the Tre Venezie area and in particular in Friuli. It is called in this way for the grey pink-violet colour of grape skin.
It is one of the main wines of the Collio: straw yellow with a slight ash-grey hue. Elegant and complex bouquet. Very fine notes of fresh, maybe exotic fruits, and acacia flowers can be distinguished together with a hint of bread crust. In the mouth, it offers a solid, determined yet delicate backbone.
The grapes are hand-picked. There is a traditional process, maceration occurred at a controlled temperature for a period of 24 hours. Soft pressing. Following the must ferments at a controlled temperature (18°C) in stainless steel tanks until next spring.
